Originally from
Lake Tahoe, Brad Cockman lives and works in Bend, Oregon with his wife
and two young boys. He has over 20 years of cycling experience,
including 19 years of road racing. Brad has worked with a number of
racers and recreational cyclists over the years both on and off the
road and has contributed to the making of several cyclists as State
and National Champions.
Brad took up cycling with the encouragement of his father at age 10
and completed his first century when he was 11. He started bike racing
while in high school to stay in shape for ski racing and got his first
USCF license in 1986 while in college at San Diego State University
where he received a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (Exercise
Science). While at SDSU he was voted “Most Valuable Cyclist” competing
on both the road and the track. From there he went on to Parker
College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas and is now a licensed
Doctor of Chiropractic in Nevada, California, and Oregon and provides
locum services in those states.

Brad continues to race today, in the Masters category on the road, in
the Expert or Single Speed categories off road. In 2002 he won the
Single Speed category for the Cyclocross Crusade, a Portland based
cyclocross series. He has also placed in the top 10 in the Single
Speed category at the Sea Otter Classic on four separate occasions. In
2004 he won the Oregon State Criterium Championships in the 40-49 age
category and also won the 2004 Central Oregon BMX Challenge in the
36-40 age category.
As a full-time Doctor of Chiropractic, coach, father, husband,
competitor and race director of the Cascade Cycling Classic, Brad
knows the rigors of balancing everyday life and training and brings
with him a “real-world” attitude towards preparing the “weekend
warrior” for competition. He has a real passion for cycling, coaching
and promoting events and looks forward to passing that on to his
clients and, hopefully, his own kids!
