Baxter Horton of Fayetteville, Arkansas is one of Wenzel Coaching's main Southeast coaches. A quick learner, Baxter began coaching after only two years in the sport. He is currently a USCF Expert coach and is focusing on assisting developing racers and endurance riders reach their goals.

Baxter has a thorough background in exercise science, completing his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in three years and obtaining the honor of Magna Cum Laude. He is currently working as a graduate assistant and is beginning work on masters degrees in Exercise Science and Business Administration.

Baxter is one of Wenzel Coaching's main physiologists and is currently developing the Wenzel Coaching Training Log, due to be released in early 2002. In the coaching arena Baxter has had great success with beginning racers, helping them go from off the back up to the front of the pack. He has coached several riders from Category 5 to Category 3 within one year. He has found a specialty in working with riders suffering from overtraining and has helped these riders return to their old selves, enjoying racing and life once again.

Baxter believes that successful cycling comes through the right blend of science, commitment, and proven training methods. He has already put those beliefs to the test with his own busy schedule and has helped working riders make the most of their own limited training time. As well as being a full time student, cyclist and coach, he also has a wife and baby daughter.
