Scott
Saifer is in his seventh year with Wenzel Coaching. He is a USCF qualified
Elite coach who has been instrumental in the coaching of Wenzel Coaching
athletes to numerous National Championship and District medals. Scott
is a graduate in biophysics from UC Berkeley and has completed coursework
for the Master's Degree in both exercise physiology and sports psychology.
He is well informed in the latest scientific training techniques and
sports nutrition and how they apply to cyclists.
In Wenzel Coaching program preparation and the day to day coaching
of athletes Scott combines his racing and coaching experiences with
analysis of the individual athlete to identify the most productive
areas for attention in each rider's program. He is available to answer
coaching questions and provide guidance in planning a rider's season
as well as conduct anaerobic threshold testing and bike fittings.
Scott also works for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training,
where he helps beginning cyclists prepare for their first century
rides and endurance MTB events. He recently trained and managed six
teams for the 24 Hours of Moab MTB relay race. He raced in Northern
California for 15 years and occasionally continues to race the road,
mountain and track recreationally. Scott has been instrumental in
the addition of general fitness programs to Wenzel Coaching and has
had particular success in improving the time trial abilities of many
Wenzel Coaching clients and helping many riders reach their weight
loss goals.
Scott is available for custom program development, seminars and clinics
as well as individual coaching.
