Scott Saifer is in his seventh year with Wenzel Coaching. He is a USCF qualified Elite coach who has been instrumental in the coaching of Wenzel Coaching athletes to numerous National Championship and District medals. Scott is a graduate in biophysics from UC Berkeley and has completed coursework for the Master's Degree in both exercise physiology and sports psychology. He is well informed in the latest scientific training techniques and sports nutrition and how they apply to cyclists.

In Wenzel Coaching program preparation and the day to day coaching of athletes Scott combines his racing and coaching experiences with analysis of the individual athlete to identify the most productive areas for attention in each rider's program. He is available to answer coaching questions and provide guidance in planning a rider's season as well as conduct anaerobic threshold testing and bike fittings.

Scott also works for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, where he helps beginning cyclists prepare for their first century rides and endurance MTB events. He recently trained and managed six teams for the 24 Hours of Moab MTB relay race. He raced in Northern California for 15 years and occasionally continues to race the road, mountain and track recreationally. Scott has been instrumental in the addition of general fitness programs to Wenzel Coaching and has had particular success in improving the time trial abilities of many Wenzel Coaching clients and helping many riders reach their weight loss goals.

Scott is available for custom program development, seminars and clinics as well as individual coaching.
