Terry Tupper brings 17 years of experience in racing and coaching to Wenzel Coaching. Terry will be the main Northern West Coast coach and specializes in developing semi-elite riders to make the jump to the elite ranks in road and mountain bike racing. Since 1995, he has coached riders to three National Championships (elite criterium, master's age-graded all around and master's age-graded individual pursuit), four District and State Road Race Championships, and a World Cup win in mountain biking. His experience includes successes with riders from Juniors, Elites, Cat 3-5's as well as most levels of Women and Masters.

In 1999 he worked as director of the Nutra Fig Men's Professional Cycling Team. Terry's experience also includes a year as the team trainer/soigneur for the Saeco/Timex Women's Cycling Team in 1998.

Before retiring as a professional rider in 1994, Terry competed as a road racer for 12 years, four of which were in Europe (based in Holland). During that time he rode for the US National Team and several Dutch teams in over 200 events in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. His strength as a rider was as a breakaway sprinter and attrition road racer. As a result of this he was forced to learn how to win races by thinking and being efficient in his efforts. His own experience as a racer and coach has confirmed his belief of the importance of developing a rider's confidence as well as strongly encouraging each rider to think about everything they do on and off the bike.
