Clinic Details:
Join coaches Anne
Linton, MD (USA Cycling coach), Rhonda
Morin (CX national master’s bronze medalist) and dirt skills
specialist Martin Baker (former
Oregon State XC Champion and CX Masters A racer) for 3 clinics of cyclocross skills and
preparation for the 2011 season.
The Monday,
August 15 clinic is for Women Only. Ladies, here is your
chance to learn or brush up on your cross technique skills through
demonstration and practice in an “on-your-bike” encouraging and
coached environment.
Return on August
29 and September 10 with a mix of men and women to learn new skills
and further improve your skills on your bike. We'll break into
groups and individually based on experience and skill comfort and
then we'll finish off each session with skills practice games and/or
a mini race.
Specific
cyclocross skills will be introduced and built upon during each
session. Cyclocross
specific strength, flexibility conditioning, training and nutrition
tips will also be part of the sessions.
Come on out and
play!
Cyclocross skills that will be
covered:
- Barriers, mounts
and dismounts
- Shouldering and running with the bike
- Run-ups
- Cornering
- Off-camber riding
- Group starts
- CX-specific strength and flexibility conditioning
- Nutrition and training tips
- Gradual progression of skills with each session
We keep our rider/coach ratios small
to ensure individual attention so that skills can be taught and
practiced to meet both individual and group interests and needs.
What equipment do I need to
participate?
Cyclocross
and/or mountain bikes (without bar ends). Come dressed to ride in
all weather. Bring food and water for 2 and 3 hours of riding.
Helmets are mandatory – they must be in good condition and fit
appropriately.
