Jeanie Bihlmaier has 12
years of experience in endurance sport training and competition. She
began recreational mountain biking in 1994, moving to mountain bike
racing for four years before transitioning into adventure racing in
1999.
After completing the
adventure race icons Eco Challenge 2001 and Primal Quest 2002 she
turned to road racing. She currently races as a Category 2 on
the road and in the Expert mountain bike category and was awarded Oregon Best All Around Road Rider for 2006.
Jeanie likes a hands-on
approach and has coached novice and master’s women road racers as well
as mentoring the novice women’s category at local races. She
understands and has personally dealt with the demands of working and
raising a family in addition to training and racing. Jeanie enjoys
helping busy individuals achieve their goals whether they include
racing competitively or riding recreationally.
In 2008 Jeanie raced a full season on the track, including races such
as American Velodrome Challenge in San Jose, FIAC Six Day National
Championships, Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge, FSA Grand Prix and the
US Elite National Championships. At the FIAC Six Day National
Championships she and her teamate took 2nd overall. She also had top
ten finishes at the American Velodrome Challenge, Alpenrose Velodrome
Challenge and FSA Grand Prix.
Having trained through
pregnancy for the extreme adventure race Eco Challenge, Jeanie understands how physical activity
can benefit childbirth and facilitate recovery afterward. She also
overcame a serious knee injury she sustained while skiing in early
2005 and was able to race competitively later that year. That
experience made her realize that hard-work, dedication, and a positive
attitude can help you overcome even the biggest challenges.
Jeanie lives in
Vancouver with her husband and young son. In her spare time she
volunteers with Portland Mountain Rescue and enjoys knitting, reading,
skiing and cooking.

"Jeanie has helped me define areas of weakness and strength for me. In
the short time she has mentored me, she has given some solid strong
advise. No sugar coating, just straight, the way it should be. Very
encouraging, and the small goals she has me work on are what is
bringing me the confidence I need to get the job done, while having
fun and being safe" ~ Kem Brainerd
