Whether you are preparing for your first race,
competing at an elite level or just skating for fun, Kim Perkins can
help you improve your speed, get in excellent overall shape and enjoy
skating more. Kim particularly enjoys helping clients to get better at
hills, solve balance and blister problems, and painlessly increase
power by incorporating better form and technique into daily skating.
She also teaches specialized racing techniques such as the double push
and pack skills.
Kim combines her own real-world knowledge of skate
training and racing with the proven training-plan development skills
of Wenzel Coaching to prepare Custom, Semicustom and Individual
programs tailored to the specific skills required by inline skaters.

Kim came to sports later in life, starting to race
at the age of 33. To enter her first races she had to overcome a
lifetime of fear of competition and little athletic activity at all.
Through dedication and hard work she has become one of the country's
top skaters. She has won the Disney Marathon, the Cactus Classic
Marathon, the Texas Road Rash Marathon, and is a two-time winner of
Athens-to-Atlanta 87-Mile Roadskate -- a race she specializes in
preparing skaters for. Having personally experienced what a motivated
skater can accomplish, Kim enjoys working with any skater who wants to
succeed, whether that success is to be measured in terms of
competition or improvement of fitness and skills.
As well as helping skaters with training plans, Kim
has plenty of experience in hands-on coaching. For three years she has
coached weekend technique workshops across the country and mentored
skaters on every level in the Bay Area. She serves on several race
organization committees, has coached beginning skaters on the Travel
Channel reality TV series "Swimsuit Slimdown," and has a degree in
English from Oberlin College.
Sponsored by Bont Skates and racing with Team SAFE,
Kim lives in Berkeley, California.
