As one of Wenzel Coaching's main triathlon coaches and premier women coaches, Laura coaches everyone from beginning to elite bicycle racers and triathletes, while working closely with Rene, Kendra and Scott to develop triathlon programs.  Laura has been an athlete since she was five, and has been coaching since she was 15.  She turned to endurance sports after high school and trained as a triathlete competing in numerous triathlons, adventure races, Ironman and several marathons since 1996.

Laura brings a wide range of knowledge to Wenzel's triathletes and cyclists.  She helped form and coach the first High School Triathlon Team in Huntington Beach, CA.   As a student at Cal State University, Long Beach she founded the CSULB Triathlon Team. Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and then taught Triathlon Fitness, a KPE course at CSULB.  

Laura has been a working coach for over 15 years and enjoys helping people ease into a routine of training that will help them obtain their goals and aspirations.  She enjoys most the satisfaction clients have from sticking to a routine and seeing their results improve.  By closely supervising training, listening to how each client is feeling and what motivates the client, Laura has seen her athletes achieve and exceed their goals.  One of her triathlon clients from Huntington Beach, after a year of racing and coaching on an individual Wenzel program under Laura, exceeded his own goals and earned a spot on the USA Triathlon Team as an associate member at the USAT training center in Florida.

In her own racing, Laura's accomplishments include winning the Elite State Criterium Championship and Master's National Time Trial Championship.  In 2001 Laura placed 5^th and in 2003 placed 6th at the USCF Elite Women's National Criterium in Downers Grove, IL.  She ended her 2003 season with a 9^th place at the San Francisco Grand Prix.  Laura lives and rides in South Pasadena, CA and is returning to her birthplace, Boise, Idaho.  She runs with her dog Roxy and when not riding, she enjoys camping, climbing, surfing and mountain biking.
