MC Jenni of Missoula, Montana brings a wide variety of
road racing and teaching experience to Wenzel Coaching. From hundreds
of weekly bike club races in Northern California and Montana, to the
National Collegiate Championships, to National Calendar races such as
the Cascade Classic, Tour de ‘Toona, and Nevada City Classic, to the
13-day stage race the International Women’s Challenge, she has held
leadership roles such as forming Montana’s first multi-sport women’s
team, conducted road and mountain clinics, organized bike equipment
swaps, developed her own composite racing teams for participation in
major US races, and organized bike tours in Mongolia.
MC’s eclectic background of
physical activity beyond cycling includes modern dance and ballet,
whitewater kayaking, alpine ski coaching, Nordic ski racing, and her
National Women’s Championship in Gelande Ski Jumping (Nordic ski
jumping but with traditional alpine bindings). In addition to her
physical ventures, she has lived in Denmark, France and Japan, has a
BA in French with emphasis in Dance from the University of Colorado,
an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language. Her certifications
include CHEK (Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology) Holistic
Lifestyle Coach, focusing on nutrition and lifestyle patterns, ACE
Personal Trainer, and formerly, PSIA ski instructor and IDEA aerobics
instructor. She is a Spinning (indoor cycling instructor), teaches
yoga and enjoys public speaking.
MC’s interest as a coach is
in focusing on aligning athletic goals and aspirations with a client’s
daily routine and lifestyle. She is skilled in the processes of
changing patterns and habits in lifestyle and training to reach
greater performance and realize potential. She wants her clients to
see and experience the possibilities that can come out of focusing on
the sport of cycling.
MC loves to coach clients in
riding smoothly and safely in a group, organizing a paceline on the
road, race strategy, moving around in a field of riders with agility,
breathing efficiently to maximize energy output, descending hills fast
and safely, maintaining presence of mind in the intense, challenging
moments of a race or tour, pacing for long tours, and being calm and
collected at the starting line. In addition to supporting client’s
dreams by following the monthly training plan, it is important to MC
to listen with full attention and her intuition. She believes people
have tremendous and untapped capacity for positive change.
MC lives in Missoula,
Montana with her husband and two young daughters. Their recent project
is to figure out how to commute solely by bicycle around town instead
of a car.

"Thank you again for all you do for women's cycling
in Montana. If I never told you this before, I will tell you this now:
Your clinic you taught last year really changed my life. You (and the
other riders) gave me courage to get back on my bike after my accident
and showed me how fun cycling can be. I gained confidence and improved
my bike handling skills and met some incredible people in the process.
I wouldn't be riding with Team Delphine (women’s road race team) if it
weren't for you. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart."
