Neil Browne of Greenville, South
Carolina has been a coach for Wenzel Coaching for nearly ten years
in Southern California and other West Coast areas. He has over 17
years of road, mountain and cyclocross riding and racing experience.
As a coach, Neil has prepared riders for numerous national
championships and his riders have won several state championships
and national age group medals as well as made the upgrade from cat 5
to cat 2 on the road.
Neil is available for all levels
of Wenzel Coaching programs as well as bike fittings, threshold
testing, one on one consultation, seminars, camps, and training
appointments. He has done post-graduate studies in Sports Psychology
after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. Neil grew up
in a cycling family, listening to the tales of his father’s
experience as a professional racer in Ireland. Neil continues to be
a competitive cyclist and is the editorial director of ROAD
Magazine -- a position that allows him to come in contact with
some of the best coaches and racers in the world.
As coach of the California State
University Long Beach Cycling Team during their 1998 and 1999 road
seasons, Neil was instrumental in qualifying two riders for the 1999
national championships. He also has been a Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society "Team in Training" Cycling Coach in the past for the greater
Los Angeles area, having coached many riders to ride their first
century and ultra endurance rides.
