2017 PDX Cyclocross Clinic at Vernonia Springs – Aug 6
Clinics: Get a big jump on your cyclocross season… on a Sunday! Join Wenzel Coaches and seasoned racers Elaine Bothe and Andrew Coe for one of two special cyclocross skills sessions at Vernonia Springs. The morning session will be for intermediate to advanced riders, afternoon session will be focused on beginners to intermediate. We’ll cover mounting and dismounting skills, bike handling, race starts, strategy, training, and much more. All day Sunday we’ll host an open practice – FREE for participants or just $10! Morning Session (Intermediate-Advanced) 10 am – 12:30 pm
Afternoon Session (Beginners, first timers welcome!) 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Open Practice 10 am – 4 pm
$45 each for the morning and afternoon sessions.
$10 for open practice, or free if you participated during one of the sessions or for kids race-aged 12 and under (must be supervised!)
A waiver will need to be signed for all.

Bring your cyclocross or mountain bike! Enjoy the short but super fun single track course and some barriers. Bring your tire gauge or pump, Vernonia Springs is a great place to test air pressures! Bring the family! Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day! FREE if you joined us for one of these clinics, or $10 if you didn’t. This is to cover our insurance and the site fee. Kids 12 and under free if accompanied by a paying adult or clinic participant.

Learn skills, race preparation and more at this concentrated CX camp. We’ll cover mounting and dismounting skills of course, as well as bike handling, race starts, strategy, training, and much more.

- Shouldering, suitcase carries and special adaptations for short riders

- Corners in dry/wet conditions, grass, dirt, mud, gravel, etc.

Is This Clinic For You?:
Adults and juniors interested in improving their skills and wanting to gain confidence before the racing season at a unique and beautiful venue. All levels welcome. The morning session is geared toward intermediate to advanced riders, the afternoon session is beginner to intermediate.
Cyclocross or mountain bikes (without bar ends). Flat pedals are OK. Come dressed to ride in all types of weather. Bring a lunch and snacks. We will provide water.
Helmets are mandatory and worn whenever you are riding your bike – Helmets must be in good condition and fit properly. Eye protection and gloves also recommended.
Bring your pump! Vernonia Springs is a great place to try out different air pressures!
