The
preliminary camp schedule is listed below:
This schedule may look intimidating, but don't worry! It is always
possible for us to cut down any of the rides to make it a sensible
training ride instead of an unnecessary marathon effort. |

General Ride
and Camp Information:
Mallorca has a 1.250 km road network, of which 675 km are secondary
or vicinal roads with an average width of 6.5m (21 feet). This excellent
secondary road network offers varied itineraries with limited traffic.
The number of riders riding with us during our training will vary
during our stay. For large groups, rides will be split from two
to four groups depending on the ride we are doing. You can change
which group you choose to ride in from day to day. On smaller group
ride days we will still eventually split into ability groups so
that all riders have coach support. All rides can be prolonged or
cut short on an individual basis. Our mechanic will sag all rides.
The accommodations: Hotel Horizonte The Hotel Horizonte is located
on a hill with views over the bay in a quiet, well-connected area
only 4 km from the center of Palma and 15 minutes from the airport.
The hotel is split in a 4-floor and a 10-floor building. Our hotel
is nice, but casual. It has been upgraded from a two star to a three
star this year, but remains casual and perfect for a training camp.
Food is good, but not gourmet and we are happy to break up the rhythm
of the hotel food during the week by inviting all our guests out
for two dinners and one lunch. Daily breakfast and dinner are included
in our camp package. (Meal times will be announced at camp.)
All rooms have TV, telephone, security box, and most have a terrace
- many with a view of the sea. There are two swimming pools, one
especially for children and both set in the hotel gardens. There
is also a cafeteria, a pool bar, and a TV and games room, table
tennis and a pool table. There is a cyber café
nearby for those who can't live without checking their email. The
hotel has good experience in housing cyclists of all levels, which
is our number one reason for staying here. There are also quarters
for bicycles and extra equipment.
