    Andrew Neill

    Coach / Eugene, Oregon

Andrew Neill of Eugene, Oregon is a time trial specialist, bike fitter, master mechanic, and analytical coach. He applies the same dedication and discipline that guides him as an athlete to his coaching clients’ goals, and with the same level of passion and tenacity.  He invests the time and energy it takes to get to know each athlete and what makes them “tick.” He will work with you to develop a training regime that helps achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

Through hard work, motivation and consistency, Andrew has found success in this sport as he pursues his life goals. He has been racing bicycles for over 15 years, starting as an amateur at the University of Oregon and working up to UCI pro. With a pile of top results from nearly every road and time trial course in Oregon, Andrew is a 3-time state TT/TTT champion (2017, ‘19, ‘21), took 6th at the 2021 UCI Chilean national ITT championships, and was 2018 Oregon Hillclimb State Champion after coming back from a broken pelvis less than a year prior. As of fall of 2021, he is working to fulfill his lifetime dream of competing in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Andrew thrives in an environment where he can share his experience and knowledge to help others, which makes him a natural coach. He is eager to work with new and seasoned athletes in pursuit of their own goals.

As an experienced bike fitter in Eugene, Andrew can work with you to optimize your fit on your road, TT, tri, gravel, or mtb. He has experience with athletes who are working through chronic injuries, including fitting a client who won the 2021 Ironman Santa Cruz 70.3 women’s overall with a knee injury, who then went on to win the 2021 OBRA TTT and ITT state championship two weeks later.

Andrew has a degree in outdoor leadership and education. He can help drill down to what really motivates you and keeps your passion for cycling alive. He has a passion for human performance and mental strengthening, having suffered through several serious injuries and setbacks. Andrew speaks from experience and when things get really tough, he can help you work through them.

Always eager to learn and understand, Andrew will help you comprehend the “why” behind your training plan. He is also a big fan of using mantras to help maintain focus, drive and motivation. He’s built a toolkit of mental strengthening techniques to share with you along your training journey.

When he’s not obsessing over aerodynamic bike parts, Andrew volunteers as the board chair and race official for Twilight Operations, promoting grassroots racing in the Willamette Valley. At home you’ll find him drinking copious amounts of espresso, eating chocolate, spending time with his wife Lauren and his two rescue cats, Sylvie and Eleanor. You might also find him on the trail or ultralight hiking in the PNW. Rumor has it that Andrew is part of a Harry Potter trivia team (this has yet to be confirmed).

"Andrew is charismatic, highly driven, and an emotionally intelligent person and this translates well to his coaching. He strikes a good balance between providing the support and structure that athletes need to progress, but is realistic in terms of the sacrifice and timeframe it requires to accomplish particular goals." ~Will F.

"Andrew's long personal experience of intense focus on training and racing and working with several different coaches gives him a lot to draw on to share with others.... He will always go out of his way to make others feel comfortable, welcome and included, meeting them at their level of expertise/experience and guiding them forward at the pace they can handle." ~Rob E.
