Coach Brian Ornstein of Tucson, Arizona is a USA Cycling Coach Level 3, Spin Class Instructor Level 1, and Circuit Training Certified Instructor with over eight years of competitive racing experience. Brian’s broad experience includes road cycling, time trials, triathlons, and duathlons in England, Germany, Norway, and the United States. He has also assisted with adaptive sports camps for injured athletes in cycling for the United States Air Force, including mentoring and coaching athletes who have medaled at the Department of Defense Warrior Games and Invictus Games for United States and United Kingdom teams. Additionally, Brian has several years’ experience in coaching athletes of all ages, helping athletes from ages eight to 60+ accomplish their first endurance cycling events and triathlons.
Living in Tucson, Brian has extensive experience training in weather from 25ºF to 100º+F and can advise how to acclimatize for upcoming races. Brian can also coach you on equipment setup – including wetsuits, weekly gym training plans to supplement your endurance training, and proven tips to maintain a healthy and happy work/life balance.
Brian has ridden the Mt Lemmon climb many times and enjoys helping others prepare to succeed in this grueling challenge.
Brian earned his Bachelor of Science Cum Laude in Technical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, an Associate of Science in Aviation Operations and Human Resource Management, and is a retired combat rescue service member from the United States Air Force. Brian’s hobbies include travelling to Europe, hiking, teaching mathematics, and listening to 60’s and 70’s music.
