    Taitt Sato

    Associate Coach / Tahoe, California

Coach Taitt Sato (Vigus) of Oakland, California has over 10 years of riding and racing experience on the road at the regional and national levels. She is a certified USA Cycling Level 3 coach, and has earned several regional and national podium appearances such as the Nevada City Classic, USA Cycling Masters National Championship Road Race and Masters National Track Championships, as well as the 2004 and 2005 NCNCA Best All-Round Rider award for Cat 1/2 women.

Taitt welcomes working with road and criterium racers who are either just beginning to race or have an interest in competing at an elite level. She is also available to work with cyclists of all abilities and interests. Her own experiences and familiarity with the Northern California road racing courses can help others who want to achieve their goals in cycling.

Taitt herself started as a Wenzel athlete in 2001, from the outset challenging herself with National Calendar Races such as the Redlands Bicycle Classic, the Solano Stage Race, and the Mclane Pacific Stage Race. As a full-time attorney, she focused on her career while pursuing racing as an exciting diversion from her desk job. She attributes her early success and quick upgrade to Cat 1 to the Wenzel coaching program.

Her deep understanding of how to balance racing with a full-time career and/or family life can enable athletes to enjoy their road racing and fitness goals to the fullest.

"After contacting her and getting started, Taitt really took the time to actually listen to me. She listened to my recent ups and downs in life, as well as all the factors that would come to affect my performance come race day (time, money, equipment etc.). And on top of that, she really helped me focus on realistic goals… If anyone is looking for an Elite Coach at every level, you will find Taitt Sato is kind, understanding, highly intelligent, and a professional at every level. … However, one should be warned though, if you are looking for someone who is going to “feel sorry” for your tired legs, and how much you hurt after a gut-wrenching training session, then you are looking at the wrong coach!
Wenzel Coaching is nothing less than lucky to have Taitt Sato. She is everything and more a coaching service or client could ask for. And I have a feeling we will work together again one day. …The best to Wenzel Coaching. And the best to Taitt Sato, too."

"This email is to nominate Taitt Sato for Wenzel Coach of the Month. Taitt is exceptional! I'm a 55-year-old beginning recreational rider. When I started working with Taitt last year, I was terrified of my road bike. I've never been athletic. My only goal for training was to conquer my fear, and be able to participate in group rides. With Taitt's help, I accomplished that and much more. She helped me to improve my diet, and make fitness a part of my everyday routine. I love riding now, thanks to the skills she helped me to develop. She's a competent professional racer, with years of experience. Yet, she can somehow very effectively work with clients at their level. My work with her has been life-altering. I feel very lucky to have had this experience."
